Bristol Arup & The Spinning Bridge-Bow

How can we play multiple bridge-bows simultaneously?

“During our first experiments with the bridge-bow on the suspension bridge I was so happy that we the bow was working that neglected to observe that we may have problems if a movician wanted to play more than one bow simultaneously.  This meant another meeting was needed with they Roland, Ian and Alan from Arup to discuss how we might design a bridge-bow that could spin to face the movician where ever he or she was positioned on the bridge.  Without this the bow rope would slip off its pulley or tangle in the prongs of the bow.  After a discussion in Barristers cafe Ian Wise put together this technical rendering of our spinning device.  Now I just need to make it!” Di Mainstone
